Job Description Emote Games is a production company specialising cross platform connected entertainment. We deliver a mixture of original and licensed content on platforms as diverse as mobile to next generation console and are looking to grow our small select team to support current and pending projects.

Job Profile:
We are looking for a Web Developer to work as part of our team to develop cutting edge server side technology. The ideal candidate must posses a strong background in contemporary “web 2.0” development whilst following best practise and having responsible, resourceful and passionate qualities that we value.

Key responsibilities:
- Create and enhance in-house tools to manage web site operations
- Develop extensible architecture and framework for websites
- Design tools to streamline and robustly deploy new systems
- Customize, compile, install, configure, monitor and debug Apache server instances
- Troubleshoot issues with web server, database, security, network, and web technologies

London based, but some domestic travel is expected.

Essential skills & experience:
Key Skills required:
- 3+ years web development experience
- Expert level in any of PHP, Python, Java, ASP, JavaScript, DOM, XML, Apache and SQL
- Expert level object-oriented programming and MVC design
- Knowledge of JavaScript, XHTML, CSS to W3C standards and AJAX preferred
- Experience with database driven web 2.0 projects essential
- Experience of multi-tier e-commerce or subscriber/community websites preferred
- Understanding of entertainment industry, gaming and social networking communities preferred
- Must possess high level of enthusiasm and be a strong team player

Other Desirable skills & experience:
- Computer Science degree strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Mootools or a similar web 2.0 toolkit
- Comfortable with Linux as a development environment
- Previous development in a team, including use of source control
- Interest in games and entertainment media
