| Job Description | This independent games company is a leading provider of Massively Multiplayer Online Game technology. They have developed rapidly since launch, led by a managerial team with over 80 years of games experience between them who have formed a team dedicated to producing creative and groundbreaking games while having a good time doing it - a strategy which has seen them deliver a growing number of commercial and critical successes. SKILL REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES: * Must possess a high level of programming skills - this is a crucial requirement. The Programmer must have a strong background in programming, ideally relating to video game development. * Very strong C++ with exposure to Design Patterns, STL with solid engineering techniques. * Experience with console development on PS3 specifically in the area of rendering and asset pipelines. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Able to give and receive constructive feedback. * Excellent organisational skills. * Excellent troubleshooting abilities and/or the resourcefulness to obtain solutions. * Remain ‘up-to-date’ on all aspects of cutting edge programming as it relates to the video game industry. * Willing to learn and be open to new ideas. The candidate must be adaptable and be able to pick up new skills quickly. * Video game experience - playing games as well as programming games. * Must have worked on at least one published title. * Assisting the Lead Programmer in the induction of newly hired programmers as required, providing them with a complete overview and hands-on familiarisation of the company programming procedures prior to being assigned to a working team. This is a full-time position in Nottingham, United Kingdom. |
