Job Description App/GUI programmer – London – Up to £45,000

My client are a top Games Studio looking for an experienced App / GUI Programmer with a minimum of 5 years games experience. The successful App / GUI Programmer should have experience developing advanced GUI for large scale games. You should have a positive attitude, a passion for games and be able to communicate with people as effectively as you do a computer!

• Take an active part in the game design process working with designers and other development departments
• Turn game designs into technical specifications and implementing resulting code
• Test and refine gameplay features during the development process
• Preferably have experience implementing multi-player/online gameplay features
• Contribute towards a variety of different code systems related to gameplay and game modes
• Work with other programmers to interface with all project subsystems, including networking, and physics
In addition to the above, applicants should show a good understanding of how GUI and gameplay systems are implemented and will need to:
• Have previous experience with object-oriented design, data-driven systems and their implementation
• Turn GUI designs into technical specifications and implementing resulting generic technology as well as project specific code/logic
• Test and refine GUI features during the development process
• Work with other programmers to interface with all project subsystems exposing data to the GUI, including gameplay, networking and physics
