My client is an outstanding Independent game studio based in the capital of the world otherwise known as London!!! Already an established name in the industry, producing world a renowned AAA title, they are now looking to expand the studio and are on the look out for talented individuals to join the team. It’s an exciting time to join the studio, as they are about to embark on yet another well known and highly popular AAA title.

As a Network Programmer, you will help develop the core systems that enable players around the world to share great gameplay moments and ultimately build a strong community around our games. In the role, you will work within the CoreTech department and closely interact with Design and Gameplay teams working on high profile AAA titles.

The role;

• Creating and maintaining the core network layer that powers our Games
• Contribute to the development of online in-game systems such as player lobby, player profiles, achievements, savegames, user-facing and developer-facing stat gathering and reporting systems,
• Contribute to the development of online community tools and services like matchmaking and social media integration.

Required Skills & Experience
• Demonstrable experience with Network programming in a modern game engine
• Low level network programming (UDP, TCP protocols, NAT, Sockets programming, ...)
• Experience with Xbox LIVE and PSN, including their certification process
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Proficiency with C++ and object-oriented programming
• Ability to write clear, maintainable and optimized code
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience
• Experience with Unreal Engine 3 at source code level
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Maths related field.
• Familiar with Data-Oriented Design
• Experience working in small focused teams
• Knowledge of build automation systems
• Knowledge of technical documentation and testing
• FPS/Shooter games experience
• Understanding of Engine, Gameplay and UI programming
