| Job Description | Black Rock Studio is currently looking for a Presentation / GUI artist to join the team at the Brighton-based studio. The studio, best known for award-winning titles such as the MotoGP series on Xbox 360 and PC and the multi-million selling ATV Offroad Fury 3 & 4, is currently developing ‘Pure’ on Xbox 360 & PS3, as well as an additional original IP racing game and is looking for talented and passionate racing game enthusiasts to join the teams on these innovative projects. Key Skills / responsibilities: • Make a significant direct contribution to the creation of UI / HUD design and all round game wrapping for a New-Gen AAA racing game. Create and implement elements from design through to completion. • Work with Pre-visualisation department on rapidly producing visual UI and HUD prototype concepts. • Mock-up screens and create Flash prototype UI flows to demonstrate design concepts. • Generate cutting edge, both static 2D and motion graphic design elements. • Create and design final 2D /3D art as required for game wrapper. • Perform special projects as assigned. Essential Requirements: • 2+ Years games industry experience or equivalent industry e.g. Web Design or Broadcast. • Solid understanding of composition, lighting, color theory, graphic design, and motion graphics and ability to demonstrate strong illustration and layout skills • Art/design background required • Ability to demonstrate strong understanding of user interface design principles as applicable to video games or other related field [e.g. web design – DVD interface] • Adaptable working with different art styles • Ability to work effectively with minimal levels of guidance • Solid knowledge of all relevant software used in production and post-production. Must have experience of Flash & Action Script, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects as a minimum requirement. • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability and willingness to accept and follow direction, and to collaborate productively within a multi disciplined team environment • A reel demonstrating outstanding visual and technical ability • Must be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure. • Must be a passionate, enthusiastic, self-driven and a talented individual, with a genuine interest in playing games. • Task driven with excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and schedule your own work How to apply: - Please email your resume to jobs@distudios.net About Black Rock Studio: Black Rock Studio, formerly known as Climax Racing, was established in early 2000 with the goal of becoming the industry's premier racing studio.
