Job Description This is a once in a life time opportunity to join one of the most ambitious start-ups in the games industry. Founded by established industry experts, this company are now looking to secure the services of a talented application developer who has a phenomenal understanding and experience of developing high performance and scalable web systems. Working closely with the Lead Web designer, this is a pivotal role with a defining contribution to making a AAA gaming experience.  

They are building a series of large cross-platform gaming websites to house their new MMO games.  You will be working on large-scale systems that are essential to their games services including authentication, billing and community features such as global leader boards. The systems will tie into their game engine as well as the game websites and apps. Security, scalability, performance and data integrity is essential.

With brand new state of the art offices in Dublin, the focus is hard-core F2P MMO setting a new standard of AAA quality artwork in this sector.  Having secured significant and high-profile financial backing, the founders have a history of building successful teams within games and are amongst the industry’s most influential entrepreneurs. The seamlessly cross-platform vision is one of the most aspirational and technically demanding goals under endeavour.

Required skills:
  • Excellent coding ability and knowledge of online web technologies and programming languages including Java.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL  and noSQL databases and how to use them effectively when developing high traffic applications
  • Excellent understanding of writing scalable and efficient code for high traffic websites
  • Detailed knowledge of web application related technology challenges including response times and system security.
  • Capable of learning new languages quickly with an excellent general understanding of object orientated programming
  • Exceptionally critical of code, a true tech perfectionist
  • Fast and agile, can handle changing priorities well
  • A great tech communicator, wants to share knowledge with others
  • You’ve developed web based applications that are used by very large numbers of simultaneous users
  • You’ve developed code for performance critical environments
  • You’ve developed web applications where security was essentialYou’ve built web applications that needed you to work to a specification
  • Ideal candidates will love playing and creating MMO, RTS, RPG, FPS, type games
