| Job Description | Do you want to work with a multi-award winning developer, best known for the series of racing games that defined a genre? Their most recent game sold over 100 million copies, gained outstanding reviews and won loads of awards including a BAFTA! The studio is backed by one of the leading game publishers, with this, the IP’s it works on and truly talented team this is an exceptionally stable studio. The studio is now looking for a talented Concept Artist with extensive experience and a strong ability to visualise ideas, concepts and designs. You will be expected to contribute ideas and run with a loose description as well as be able to work to creative direction by others. The Concept Artist visualises level designs, colour schemes, and the overall mood and feel of the game. Although not involved in creating the actual game art, the Concept Artist will help determine the look of many aspects of the game. A good Concept Artist needs to be able to generate digital painted art at high speed as well as be able to generate high quality matte paintings when given the time. They must generate high quality digital images quickly that will inspire the team and can even be used as temporary placeholder art. They need to be very good at "perspective style" artwork and real and organic architecture. The Concept Artist should also be able to visualise vehicle action sequences. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED A Concept Artist's portfolio should demonstrate the following: - Very strong traditional illustration skills in a variety of media as well as excellent drawing skills - A strong ability to draw in perspective - A strong ability to think in 3D - Good use of light and shadow - Concept development - Ability to create photorealistic matte paintings - Ability to create a strong mood - Ability to work within specific styles, including a style set by another artist or art director - Great communication skills, a drive to improve everything and a motivation to make a difference.
