Job Description
With a range of exciting new projects planned, a highly successful games studio is currently looking for a Senior Animator to inspire and motivate the award winning team, working on a new action packed, character based game.

As the Senior Animator, you will be responsible for the creation of animated objects and characters for in game, cut scenes and renders. You will use your expertise in the initial planning stages and supporting the Lead Animator in guiding overall direction - as well as acting as a mentor to more junior members of the team and taking part in the overall vision of the studio.

You will need the following skills and experience:

• Good working knowledge of relevant 3D art & animation packages - in particular Maya, but also 3D studio, XSI
• The ability to adapt to various animation styles with emphasis on realistic human driven animation
• An understanding of real world animation production - likely to be gained from around 4 years’ relevant experience
• Creative thinking
• Good communication skills - both with other animators as well as other disciplines & strong English skills
• A demonstrable passion for animation
• Demonstrable understanding of how 3D packages work - liaising with other 3rd party applications for example unreal or morpheme would be advantageous
• Demonstrable understanding of the requirements of cinematic sequences - camera positions, what looks good in shots etc

The following would be desirable, but is by no means essential:

• Technical background e.g basic/good scripting/coding skills
• Experience/knowledge of skinning & rigging

You will come from the games industry or have top quality experience within TV / film and a reel demonstrating excellent character animation ability.
