Junior Gameplay Programmer

Job Description My Client is one of the largest Independent Developers in the UK with a number of high profile titles under the belt and in the pipeline. Due to the recent signing of new titles they are looking to expand their games Studio in Surrey. They thrive on innovative, open and enthusiastic teams who invest their creativity in projects that inspire them.

They are looking for someone to be responsible for developing a game play area from day one on an exciting new project.

Main Duties

Taking ownership of their game area in regards to implementation and functionality. Working closely with other game programmers, artists and designers to make sure their needs are met in an efficient manner. Growing their knowledge of AI, networking and gameplay.

Essential Skills

· 1st Class or good 2:1 degree in computing (similar subjects such as Maths or Engineering welcomed)
· Genuine passion and enthusiasm for quality games
· Strong C++ and OO skills
· Good communicator and team player
· Quick learner.

Desirable Skills

· Solid Maths / Geometry skills highly advantageous
· Commercial games experience is not essential but welcomed
· Knowledgeable in both AI and networking

Reporting to the Programming lead and Producer, this person should show ownership of their given game area. You should be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion to bring their area to the highest standard. You should be willing and able to grow their knowledge across a broad range of technologies and platforms.
