Job Description	My Client, based in the North East has an excellent reputation for producing highly successful games over nearly 20 years. They are now owned by a major international publisher and are looking to expand their teams working on titles for next gen consoles. The Data Manager is responsible for maintaining and operating the build systems and build procedures required for tools and game production. He or she is also responsible for ensuring the quality and usability of the live tools and game media are at an acceptable level to allow the development teams to perform their work unimpeded. The Data Manager reports to the Build Master. Responsibilities · Assist in implementing build processes (creation of game versions, development tools, and engines). · Set up and maintain these processes for all platforms (Xbox360, PS3, Wii, PC) · Coordinate and execute release procedures and basic QA tasks to ensure the stability and operation of tools and game media. · To assist and deputise for the responsibilities of the Build Master as required. Skills · Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or similar. · A basic understanding of build processes in C++ and C# environments (makefiles, C++ and C# compilers, Visual Studio, project configuration, etc.). · A basic understanding of SCM (Perforce, Alienbrain...). · Good knowledge of programming (C#, C++). · Good knowledge of script languages (Perl, Lua, etc). · Knowledge of batch languages (win32). · Good attention to detail. · Good self-organisational abilities. · Good communication skills.
