Overview of the Job

As part of the web programming team the successful applicant would be involved in developing and maintaining the gaming related web applications for my client. Projects involve a mix of frontend and backend web development ranging from CMS websites and mobile companion apps to web APIs that online games hook into. The work will involve liaising with game designers to identify web service requirements and then working closely with artists/programmers to develop them. The successful candidate must be able to clearly and accurately communicate progress to managers and producers to ensure deadlines are achievable.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential
Proficient with CSS3, HTML5 and Javascript
Understanding of cross-browser/device issues
Familiarity with frontend libraries and tools e.g. JQuery, Less/Sass, etc
Good working knowledge of OOP PHP

Desirable
Responsive and/adaptive design experience
Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap or Zurb Foundation
Expertise developing and/or integrating web APIs
Familiarity with backend MVC frameworks such e.g. Zend Framework
LAMP stack environment experience (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP)
Amazon Web Services knowledge (AWS)
