Job Description Senior Java Backend Developer

With more than 70 million unique users every month, my client is one of the world’s largest free-to-play online games destinations. The company develops, publishes and distributes more than 800 casual and mobile games.

Thanks to their continued success they are looking to hire an experienced Java Developer to join their London studio.

DUTIES

Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Develop and maintain the Java Backend that runs our clients flagship game.
• Improve the platform in terms of scalability and stability and help push the game to the next level.
• Document all work for both internal and external use.
• Help other teams by trouble-shooting both software and infrastructure issues.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have some experience in the following:
• Java, specifically server side experience
• OOA/D/P
• Multiplayer experience
• Performance optimisation (both on algorithm and code levels)
• Concurrency and race conditions
• Cloud computing (across multiple data centres)
• Client/Server paradigms
• Collaborating with internal and external developers
