| Job Description | Our client is an independent company at the cutting edge of video games development. They are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of gaming by creating standout experiences for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, mobile. With offices based internationally, they are a large company enabling staff to be able to progress into their next role without leaving the company. They are looking for a Research and Development Animation Tools Engineer to join their team. You will be creating, developing and integrating Tools to allow them to get very the best out of the hardware they work with. Requirements: 3 or more years of professional game or similar programming experience. Strong math background. Fluent in C++, strong software engineering and debugging skills. Experience with STL. GUI programming knowledge (preferred MFC or Win32 API). Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar degree or comparable experience. Experience using and writing plug-ins for DCC applications (3ds, Maya, XSI, Photoshop, etc?). Strong understanding of animation pipelines and workflow optimizations. Seek and develop solutions for the current production or usability bottlenecks. Good communication skills, willing to take directions and ability to work in a team. Pluses: Master's degree or higher. Experience with motion capture systems. Experience with multi-threading. Experience with FK/IK systems and facial animation. Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, optimize and extend existing or new systems in CryENGINE. Develop relevant tools as necessary for the use by studio and licensee projects' programmers and artists. Develop tools, plug-ins and other enhancements to a CryENGINE powered production pipeline. Work to meet the project's schedule while breaking the process into manageable tasks. Document source code. Write technical and software design documents. Continue to enhance programming, technological and communication skills. Coordinate with members of R&D and studio projects, including art and production, in order to improve the CryENGINE, meet the project's objectives and improve projects' quality and productivity. Willing to accept and provide guidance and assistance when required, work under pressure and handle multiple tasks. Take initiative and contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of engine and game production and development. Demonstrate ownership and responsibility. Complete tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard. Safeguard the company's assets and IPs including source code, art work, tools and technical know-how. Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow professionally. Willing to relocate to Frankfurt am Main in Germany. Communicate in English, work well in a team oriented environment.
