In close partnership with the Studio COO, this senior leadership position is responsible for executing the Studio business plan that supports the business group’s strategic objectives. The right candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of game development, working in a co-development model and experience at a leadership level supporting teams to deliver AAA Next Gen titles.

In this role you'll need a strong understanding of game development as well a partnership style that results in clearly aligned expectations and goals. Strong team leadership skills are a must to develop a dynamic and quality talent base. This is a fantastic 2-3 year opportunity for an adventurous and talented individual ready to shape a strategic function in an exciting region that has a lot to offer.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Leadership:

• Manage and develop a team of Development Directors, Managers and Senior Subject Matter Experts to work with Studio partners to lock down requirements and specifications.
• Ensure your direct reports have clear team and individual objectives that support the Studio objectives.
• Partner with recruitment in building candidate pipelines and manage partners towards recruitment targets.
• Track and implement project improvement plans to drive team quality, efficiency or effectiveness.
• Ensure that Studio resource plans for future fiscal years align with the talent planning.

Operational:
• Responsible for monthly resource planning; ensuring all projects have the right talent mix and leadership.
• Drive quarterly Studio operational reviews by reporting Studio key metrics and critical risks / mitigation.
• Work with DDs to ensure that they are tracking to key milestones and have the appropriate resources to support the plan. Ensure proper tracking of deliverables to create project status transparency.
• Define engagement practices and processes: Ensure all aspects of the project are clearly defined, processes are documented, and staff trained in expectations on the workflow.
• Validate and audit milestone delivery plans.
• Develop, maintain and publish Studio KPI’s that track project quality, delivery and team effectiveness. Create monthly tracking and report out on a quarterly basis.
• As part of the COO office, support teams as needed to remove critical roadblocks.

Financial / Infrastructure:
• Responsible for hiring strategy, recruitment plans and salary approvals for core talent.
• Responsible for local budgets including: Headcount, Team T&E, Training and Team Building.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years experience in game development.
• Successful track record in delivering AAA Next Gen franchises.
• Proven experience in providing complex project solutions across multiple disciplines that consider process and technology.
• Conceptual and strategic thinker who is able to develop and execute on complex business plans.
• Mandarin language skills are required. Previous experience working in China is a plus.
