Job Description Lead Online Programmer

Our client is opening a new studio in Berlin to focus on the mobile and online game markets, and are looking for an experienced Lead Programmer with a passion for online games to lead a team of online and backend programmers.

Responsibilities:
• Effectively communicate the core technical design and experience to the rest of the internal organization
• Help to ensure that the product leverages the ideas and resources of the design
• Project manage all technical facets of the online game as a live service
• Help evaluate, as part of due diligence, technical capabilities of prospective partners
• Problem solve
• Review and critique developers work
• Identify project risks and communicate them promptly and effectively with proposed solutions
• Create best practices and technical documents

Requirements:
• 5+ years software development experience within the games industry. Online and social games experience a must
• 2+ years as a Technical Director or Lead Programmer or Team Leader of games development
• 1+ AAA social/casual games titles preferred, including launch and live execution
• Working knowledge of object oriented PHP 4 or 5, HTML 4, CSS 2 or 3, MySQL and JavaScript
• Knowledge of Design Patterns
• Experience with Unix Systems
• Ability to effectively problem solve
• Architectural expertise
• Working knowledge of upcoming technologies such as Flash 3D, HTML 5, etc.
• Project management experience
• Strong understanding of backend/online infrastructure as it relates to social/casual games
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work in a team environment with maturity and leadership
