X360 leading indie Xbox 360 mag

Imagine Publishing has announced that its Xbox 360 magazine, X360, has maintained its position as the number one independent Xbox 360 magazine in the UK, according to the latest ABC audited sales figures for January to June 2008.

The magazine's 30,203 monthly sales were enough to put it over its nearest rival, Future's Xbox World 360 at 29,135, by over a thousand copies. Imagine Publishing also reported that along with X360's sister magazine, 360, the publisher now controls 49 per cent of the independent Xbox 360 magazine market - with combined monthly sales of 43,210 copies.

"I am thrilled to still be the market leader," said Simon Miller, deputy editor of X360, "and it's a testament to the hard work and talent of the whole team. Looking to the future we're keen to increase this lead further, especially with the number of exciting games leading up to Christmas and our now solid online presence thanks to X360's website and podcast."

"When I lived in the US, I had a habit of checking GamesIndustry.biz first thing in the morning for the latest news, to take advantage of the site's base in Europe. After I moved to Japan, I still find myself checking the site first thing in the morning. I presume this is due to the quality of articles and opinion pieces, as much as great industry news coverage."
