Time Warner financial exec points to incremental investment in games business

Time Warner's acquisition of UK developer Traveller's Tales has been "wildly successful" according to the company's chief financial officer John Martin.

Speaking during an investor conference, the CFO said that the company continues to show interest in the games business, but is likely to move steadily into the market, rather than swoop for more all-out acquisitions.

"The games area is an area that intrigues us," said Martin, reports CNN Money.

"That said, I don't see anything right now of any scale that we're going to go out and acquire. I think it's going to be done incrementally."

Martin said that Time Warner intends to bring its global distribution strengths to the games business, along with its financial clout. The company is expected to net a cash injection soon following the sale of its Time Warner Cable business.

Entertainment arm Warner Bros. has been constantly linked to an acquisition of UK games publisher Eidos, with Time Warner already owning around 20 per cent of the Tomb Raider publisher.
