Turok

Press Release PROVIDED BY GAMES PRESS

13th June 2008

Turok, a Sci-Fi First Person Shooter (FPS) game for PC, is being released by Avanquest Software Publishing to retail today. The player takes on the role of Joseph Turok, a former black ops commando, now part of an elite Special Forces squad known as Whiskey Company.

Stranded on a dark unforgiving planet, Turok must aim to complete two main objectives whilst using his elite military training to survive his threatening environment. He must take down war criminal Roland Kane who roams the planet with his army and find fellow survivors who were aboard his spaceship before it crash landed.

Guide Turok through his gruelling missions whilst encountering brutal enemies with one aim: to hunt you down. Wrestle giant scorpions and vicious dinosaurs five times your size, avoiding their ferocious, hungry jaws. Don’t forget to watch the skies and keep your crossbow to hand, as airborne pterodactyls prey on you from above.

Skilfully use the planet’s wilderness to your advantage, by sneaking through long grass to attack soldiers from behind. Use high rock faces and cliffs to hide in the shadows and snipe unsuspecting enemies down below. If you prefer a more obvious approach, confront your enemy face to face and let rip with rapid firepower.

Whatever method of combat you decide on, remember that survival is the only option…
