UK developer Traveller's Tales, the studio behind the Lego Star Wars series, has announced the acquisition of Centroid Motion Capture Limited.

UK developer Traveller's Tales, the studio behind the Lego Star Wars series, has announced the acquisition of Centroid Motion Capture Limited.

As part of the deal, the studio has established new company TT Centroid Limited. It will continue to employ Centroid's 10 UK employees plus 12 members of staff at its Serbian subsidiary, and will now operate out of Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

"Acquiring Centroid Motion Capture allows us to add a further skill-set to the TT Games Group and strengthen our connections within the video games industry," said Traveller's Tales managing director Jon Burton.

"We are also very excited by the lease we have secured for the new company at Pinewood Studios, as this is where some of the biggest films in the country are produced and will increase our presence in the film making industry."

Based in Knutsford, TT Games was established by Burton in 1989 and now employs 150 people. Forthcoming titles include movie tie-in Transformers, which is due out on July.
