Tiga backs Entertainment Law handbook

Publication includes model contract for games publishing

Tiga is backing the publication of the Entertainment Law Handbook, which includes a section on videogames and a model contract for developers and publishers.

"The addition of a section on videogames in a book for entertainment lawyers reflects the increasing importance of the videogames industry in the wider entertainment spectrum," commented Vincent Scheurer, author of the handbook's videogames section.

The model contract is designed as a template to help developers and publishers save time on negotiations and costs.

"This project should result in substantial savings to games developers and publishers alike," offered Fred Hasson, CEO of Tiga.

"This is testament to the hard work and funding provided by Tiga and its members together with the DTI, Game Republic and Game Horizon."

The Entertainment Law Handbook is published by Law Society Publishing and available to Tiga members at a discount.
