Thom Ang appointed art director for 38 Studios

38 Studios has appointed Thom Ang its new art director, overseeing the management and direction of the company's "Copernicus" MMORPG and other projects.

"38 Studios' creative teams have been meticulously crafting the signature look and feel for our upcoming MMOG over the past 18 months," said CEO Brett Close.

"Thom's extraordinary talent and experience will be key in driving the vision and quality of our online entertainment experience."

Ang previously served as art director at THQ and in a similar position at Electronic Arts LA, where he handled visual concept development and art production for the company's Medal of Honor franchise.

38 Studios, founded by Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, recently hired SOE vets Travis McGeathy, Steve Danuser and Jason Roberts to work on its upcoming MMORPG.
