Sumo and Ubisoft unveil new Driver title

First title in series since franchise bought from Atari

Ubisoft is to publish Driver 76 in March, the first title in the revered Driver franchise to be released since the French publisher bought racing studio Reflections from Atari last July.

Due for release on PSP, Ubisoft has drafted in Sumo Digital, the developer behind handheld driving successes OutRun 2006 for Sega and TOCA Race Driver for Codemasters.

The game promises a licensed soundtrack to accompany the action, with specially designed gameplay to take advantage of the PSP's capabilities.

"GamesIndustry.biz is one of my starting tabs when I boot up... so it's always one of the first sites I see each day. It's good being able to catch up with what's happened in the US overnight, and in the UK before I'm awake first thing, and know that the stories will be accurate and thought out."
