Indie dev conference to be held in April

State of Independence speakers to include Charles Cecil, Ed Vaizey

A unique one-day conference focused on developer self-publishing is to take place in York in April.

The State of Independence event has been organised by GameHorizon and Game Republic in partnership with Screen Yorkshire, and aims to cover a range of topics, including funding, marketing and distributing content and how to keep control of IPs and finances.

Speakers already confirmed include Charles Cecil of Revolution, Paul Farley of Tag Games, Patrick O'Lunaigh of nDreams and Ed Vaizey, Shadow Minister for Culture.

"State of Independence is the perfect one-stop-shop for everything indie developers need to know about new routes to market and digital self-publishing," said Game Republic sector manager Jamie Sefton.

The event will take place on April 8 at York Racecourse. Tickets are available from the event website at a reduced Early Bird price up until March 16.
