Splinter Cell: Conviction takes number one in UK chart

Ubisoft continues chart-topping streak with new Xbox 360 release

Ubisoft continued its 2010 chart topping success this week with another number one from new release Splinter Cell: Conviction.

The game, released exclusively on Xbox 360, with the PC version due on April 30, went straight to the top of the UK chart knocking last week's number one Just Dance - another Ubisoft title - to number two.

Its achievement means the publisher has occupied the top spot five times so far this year - more than any other company. It also marks the first time Ubisoft has held the number one and two positions simultaneously.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City saw a massive surge take it back into the chart at number three after the release of PS3 and PC versions of the game.

Just Cause 3 dropped from third to sixth place and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 slipped from four to nine following a two week sales boost from the release of the map pack.

Nintendo took three positions in the top ten with Wii Fit Plus at number five, Wii Sports Resort at seven and Pokemon SoulSilver at eight.

The full Chart-Track UK chart for the week ending April 17 is as follows:

  • 01 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
