Soulcalibur IV ships 2m units

Namco Bandai has announced that Soulcalibur IV has shipped two million units worldwide following its launch on July 29.

The cross-platform title shot to the top of the UK software chart in the week of its release, as it did other charts worldwide, and provided a much-needed shot in the arm to Namco Bandai, which reported a fall in profit of around 63 per cent in its financial results for the first fiscal quarter of 2009.

Soulcalibur IV is the latest in the series of fantasy-themed fighting games, which debuted as a critical success earning the PS3 version a score of 87 on Metacritic and the Xbox 360 version a score of 86.
