Sony, Square Enix hit with $5m FFXIII lawsuit

Game causes freezing and bricks consoles, claims class action

Sony and Square Enix have been served a class action lawsuit over issues with the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIII.

The suit claims that the game freezes and in some cases 'bricks' the console, rendering it useless, with neither Sony or Square Enix accepting responsibility for the issue.

"Both Defendants are eminently aware of the damage being cause by their defective products, and have chosen to do nothing about it," alleges the lawsuit, uncovered by consumer site IGN.

The suit is seeking $5 million in damages for the suit which represents over 100 users in the US.
