Sony: Platinum PS3 titles likely for Europe

But no decision on release dates or line-up

Following Sony's decision to release a range of greatest hits titles for the PlayStation 3 in Japan, the company has told GamesIndustry.biz that it's "likely" to do the same in Europe.

Sony has traditionally re-released titles under the Platinum brand for all of its consoles, giving a new lease of life to software at a budget price.

"We have introduced a Platinum range of best-selling titles for all of our platforms to date, and it is likely that we will do so in the future for PS3," said a spokesperson for the company.

"However, no decisions have yet been made on timing or line-up."

The first titles in the Japan offering include Resistance: Fall of Man and Ridge Racer 7.

Update: A SCEA spokeperson has stated that no decisions have yet been made regarding a PS3 Greatest Hits line in the US.
