Sony hands promotions to Denny and Rohde

Sony has announced that Michael Denny and Scott Rohde have been appointed as Worldwide Studios region heads for Europe and America respectively.

Denny is now senior VP, Worldwide Studios Europe, a promotion from his previous role as VP of SCEE, while Rohde - former senior director of the San Diego Studios since 2003 - has been made VP, Worldwide Studios America.

Michael Denny expressed his excitement at the new role and the possibilities that it will bring: "I'm looking forward to this new challenge, and in particular, the opportunity to further my work with the many talented development teams, both internally and externally, that make up WWS Europe," he said.

"We have an unprecedented portfolio of AAA titles this year, such as MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Singstar, Buzz Quiz TV, LittleBigPlanet and Killzone 2, which we're looking forward to showcasing further, over the coming months."

They will both report in to Shuhei Yoshida, the group president, who replaced Atari-bound Phil Harrison last month. A GamesIndustry.biz interview with Yoshida-san will be available later today.
