SEGA to deliver Alien games to next-gen consoles
Publisher announces deal with Fox, says it has two titles in pre-production
SEGA has announced a deal with Twentieth Century Fox to develop games based on the Alien film franchise.
The publisher is currently targeting next-generation platforms with "multiple titles" - among them a first-person shooter and a role-playing game, one of which is expected in 2009.
SEGA of America president and COO Simon Jeffery described Alien as, "one of the most recognised franchises in the motion picture industry," and paid tribute to Fox's "efforts over the past 27 years" in realising that.
He promised a "riveting and suspenseful gameplay experience" for players.
Fox Licensing and Merchandising executive vice president Elie Dekel described Alien as, "one of those special franchises that has continued to thrive in licensing long after it has left theatres".
"We look forward to partnering with SEGA, a known leader in the gaming industry, to expand the program to the next-generation gaming systems and bring the franchise to life with the newest technology and gameplay," Dekel added.
