Report: 360 Slim existence leaked in ad

Images from Italian sites seem to confirm long-standing rumours of new Microsoft console SKU

Images from advertisements in Italy appear to indicate that an Xbox 360 Slim will be one of the big reveals from Microsoft at this year's E3 Expo.

The console, apparently shown on a host of websites in Italy and picked up by Console Tribe, have since disappeared - although sources have confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that Microsoft has indeed lined up a new slimline addition to its Xbox 360 portfolio.

The move follows Sony's now-well trodden path of introducing a cheaper, smaller version of its consoles once production techniques have been refined enough. However, in this case - if the images are to be believed - the new Xbox 360 will feature a 250GB hard drive and built-in wireless technology.

No price points have yet been leaked, but if true the news will hit later today when in the official Microsoft press briefing.
