Report: 360 Slim existence leaked in ad

Images from Italian sites seem to confirm long-standing rumours of new Microsoft console SKU

Images from advertisements in Italy appear to indicate that an Xbox 360 Slim will be one of the big reveals from Microsoft at this year's E3 Expo.

The console, apparently shown on a host of websites in Italy and picked up by Console Tribe, have since disappeared - although sources have confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that Microsoft has indeed lined up a new slimline addition to its Xbox 360 portfolio.

The move follows Sony's now-well trodden path of introducing a cheaper, smaller version of its consoles once production techniques have been refined enough. However, in this case - if the images are to be believed - the new Xbox 360 will feature a 250GB hard drive and built-in wireless technology.

No price points have yet been leaked, but if true the news will hit later today when in the official Microsoft press briefing.

Hopefully the tech is slightly improved too, otherwise the nice pretty 'slim' case will be a ball of plastic in no time!

Second that Gregg, give us more but keep it fairly priced.
Especially with Kinect coming up.

With a 250GB HD? Think its more likely to replace the Elite price point.

What Microsoft usually does in cases like this is to pump up the hardware spec (250gb +wifi) and keep the pricing about the same. More bang for the same buck. Im highly skeptical of a 150 pricepoint but rather this will retail at the current price, closer to 200.

Looking at the pictures and using the DVD tray as reference point it does not seem to be a really slim version, at best a tiny little bit smaller in height.

I wonder if it is going to come bundled with Kinect. A bundle will help the new peripheral to establish an install base. We'll find out in a few hours at the MS conference.

not bothered anymore, been off the 360 for a year and abit now, as i have been through many rrod's! its just ps3 all the way for me now! 360 is one of the most defective console i have ever experienced in all my time of gaming!... (it doesn't even have internal battery for time and date) - not much of a 'pc in a box' is it?...
