California-based developer and publisher Red Mile Entertainment has acquired the rights to produce games based on comic book franchise Sin City.

California-based developer and publisher Red Mile Entertainment has acquired the rights to produce games based on comic book franchise Sin City.

The Sin City series was created by Frank Miller, and a film based on the books was released in 2005.

The financial details of the deal, which is multi-year and worldwide, were not disclosed.

"Sin City enjoys a broad and devoted following. Its crime noir settings, richly detailed characters, hyper-real action sequences, and engaging stories provide an outstanding groundwork for video games," said Red Mile boss Chester Aldridge.

Miller added, "Taking Sin City into the world of video games is very exciting - games offer a whole new way to bring audiences into Sin City. The Red Mile team has impressed me with its dedication to creating Sin City videogames that will remain true to Sin City as Iâve always seen it."

Red Mile has yet to reveal which platforms it plans to develop games for or when they will be released.
