RealNetworks acquires Trymedia

Resulting partnership to double RealGames syndication partners

RealNetworks has announced that it has acquired casual games syndication company Trymedia in a move that will double the number of partners for RealGames.

Trymedia has existing agreements with the likes of AOL and Yahoo which see the company provide "syndication and commerce solutions that enable portals, online retailers and game developers to securely distribute PC games through physical and digital channels and maximize revenue throughout a gameās lifetime," a statement read.

RealGames senior VP Harold Zeitz commented: "Trymedia has been a leader in the digital distribution space, so together we have a full portfolio of syndication services that we can offer partners."

Financial terms were not disclosed.
