Qube signs deal with EC-Interactive

Qube Software has announced a deal with EC-Interactive for the London- and Mumbai-based developer/QA specialist to use the company's Q engine "to spearhead the expansion of its games division," a statement read.

EC-I has over seventy employees working on QA across multiple platforms, with over 350 titles on the company CV and over a dozen major publishers and developers on its client list, while the company's developments have included titles for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance, with PC, Wii, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable titles in progress.

"Q's big attraction is that it works on any platform with floating point support and it lends itself to any game genre," said EC-I's founder and managing director Rupert Young. "This is an important step for us - not only are we taking our game development onto PCs and consoles but we're also expanding our testing services.

"We looked at the options and concluded that Q is the only engine offering a future-proof solution that works rights across every single pipeline in a big studio. Good developers are always at a premium. With Q, we can deploy their skills on any project, at any time.

"It makes our workforce highly flexible and that allows us to deliver on time while maintaining high standards and keeping costs down," he added.

Qube previously announced a deal with Asylum Entertainment and recently unveiled the 2.1 edition of its software.
