PSP reaches 50 million sales

Over 200 million games sold for Sony's PlayStation Portable

Sony's PlayStation Portable has sold a total of 50 million units worldwide, as of January 2009.

The system has a total of 2000 titles available on UMD, with worldwide sales of software reaching 200 million.

Over 500 titles are available to download via the PlayStation Network, including exclusives and original PSone games, as well as digital versions of UMD favourites.

The system was originally launched in Japan in December 2005, and has gone through three different iterations since launch.
