Prototype comic coming in August

Sierra and DC Comics announce a deal for a publication, to be adapted from the videogame title.

Sierra Entertainment has announced plans to team up with DC Comics to release a comic book based on their upcoming game Prototype.

The comic, to be released in August, will focus around the game's main protagonist and will be published under DC's Wildstrom imprint.

"By joining forces with the largest comic book publisher in the world - DC Comics - we can bring this new anti-hero and his tale to an even wider audience of comics fans and gamers alike," explained Al Simone, vice president of Global Marketing at Sierra.

DC, which will see its iconic character Batman represented in a videogame later this year, also published the World of Warcraft comic book adaptation under its Wildstorm imprint.

"Prototype's back-story, visuals and gameplay are stunning, and we have every intention of bringing those core pillars to our book because this is a great opportunity to expand on the world they've created, and build something new and interesting for comic book fans," said Hank Kanalz, general manager of WildStorm.
