PopCap partners with Acme Mobile for Southeast Asia distribution

Chuzzle and Bookworm first to reach mobile subscribers

PopCap Games has announced an agreement with Acme Mobile that will see the company's award-winning mobile games distributed to over 250 million mobile subscribers across six Southeast Asia countries starting today.

Beginning with the casual game titles Chuzzle and Bookworm, PopCap will use Acme Mobile's "Amob.com" family of web and WAP sites and wide network of carrier relationships to distribute its titles to mobile phone subscribers in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

"Acme Mobile's unique combination of its Amob.com direct consumer channels, carrier connections and regional marketing expertise make them a perfect partner for PopCap," says James Gwertzman, vp of Asia/Pacific for PopCap.

"We decided to enter Southeast Asia in a big way, with a strong partner who could quickly help us build our mobile brand, and we found that partner in Acme Mobile."

Giordano Contestabile, PopCap's director of Asia-Pacific business development added: "We were very impressed with Acme Mobile's "Ace" provisioning platform, allowing us to quickly deploy our titles across so many different channels, with separate campaigns and promos running for each.

"We look forward to working with Acme to help make PopCap's titles the best-selling casual mobile games in Southeast Asia."
