Oberon/I-play announces more redundancies
Development team at former headquarters closed, according to sources
Oberon/I-play is apparently experiencing more redundancies, less than six months after the previous round.
I-play, which was acquired by Oberon last June, made a number of redundancies in October as a result of the company's effort to streamline the business and stem rising development costs.
I-play's CEO, David Gosen, left the company in January during the restructuring.
Sources have now indicated to GamesIndustry.biz that the latest redundancies have resulted in the closure of I-play's last development team in Dunfermline, Scotland - I-play's former headquarters.
Oberon/I-play also has offices in New York, Seattle, London, Tel Aviv, Singapore, Seoul and Tokyo. It is not known which of these offices have been affected by the latest restructuring.
A spokesperson for the company said only that: "Oberon is executing on the same one restructuring and integration plan we have been working on since last year, which includes changes and redeployments of resources and migration of studios and teams to our new production facilities around the world."
