Nintendo unveils new Wii controller

Classic Controller Pro to be released in Japan later this year

A new controller has been unveiled on Nintendo's Japanese website - the Classic Controller Pro - which is similar to the Classic Controller but with handle grips not dissimilar to a DualShock pad, as well as two additional shoulder buttons.

The controller, set for release in Japan at an as-yet-unspecified time later this year, will have all the wireless functionality of the Wii Remote, although no price point has been released.

In total the controller has 8 multi-purpose buttons, as well as Select, Home and Start, a digital directional pad and two analogue directional sticks.

There's no indication as to whether or not it will materialise in other territories or not just yet.
