Next Level Dundee set for September 6-10

Mentors for week-long Abertay event to include Realtime Worlds

The University of Abertay Dundee will be hosting the Next Level Dundee event between September 6 and 10 this year.

The event caters for budding members of the creative industries, with successful applicants receiving hands-on mentoring over the course of the week, from representatives of Abertay University, Dundee Contemporary Arts, Tay Screen and Realtime Worlds, among others.

"Last year's Next Level Dundee was a huge success, giving hugely talented people looking for their break into the creative industries a chance to work alongside professionals, and have their work showcased to the public at the NEoN Digital Arts Festival," said organiser Iain Smith, himself studying for a Professional Masters in Computer Games Development at Abertay.

"This year we've recruited more varied industry mentors, and are looking for a wider range of skills including art, film and animation. I'm expecting very exciting, very interesting work to be produced by all the successful teams," he added.

Applications to take part close on Monday August 23, with five teams of five to be selected to take part. Applications can be made individually, or as a team.
