Nexon MMO's reach users milestones

Audition registers 100,00 users, Maple Story breaks 3 million

The US division of Nexon has revealed that the free-to-play dance MMO Audition has hit 100,000 registered users in North America.

Audition uses licensed music and allows players to compete in dancing competitions, socialise and customise their in-game avatars.

Nexon makes the majority of its money selling in-game items and promises to add more content in the coming months.

"We are very encouraged to see the North American market embracing Audition in such a short period of time, particularly among teenage girls," commented John Chi, CEO of Nexon America.

"Our development team will be adding more features and events to the game over the next year, like cool haircuts, trendy clothes and game contests, while will continue to fuel the game's growth and popularity."

The company's RPG Maple Story has also now reached over 3 million users in North America. In 2005 the Nexon Group reported USD 230 million (EUR 171) in revenue, with the business primarily driven by microtransactions.
