New Supreme Commander game coming in November
THQ confirms sequel to hit RTS
THQ has told our sister site, Eurogamer.net, that the next chapter in the Supreme Commander series is scheduled for release in November on Windows-based PCs.
Titled Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, it will be a standalone title that's nevertheless compatible with the original - allowing for new strategic options in both.
The new game follows the epic story of the Infinite War, introducing a brand new single-player campaign, a new faction and new multiplayer features.
It also introduces over 100 new units, allowing for fully realised navies, orbital weaponry and advanced counter-intelligence technologies.
"Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is not only the continuation of the epic story that is unfolding inside the game's universe, it is the continuation of our goal to move the bar for RTS gaming even higher than ever," said Chris Taylor, CEO of Gas Powered Games, who will continue to helm the series' development.
