New Sony Ericsson phone is PlayStation 3 compatible

Offers access and control of PS3 media and Play TV

Sony Ericsson has revealed its Aino touch-screen mobile phone is compatible with the PlayStation 3, acting as a remote control for the console and allowing uses to view PS3 media on the handheld.

The Remote Play function allows users to access PlayStation 3 media via a local network or the internet, and also works with Play TV in the UK, Italy, France, Spain and Germany.

"Media Home and Remote Play with PlayStation 3 are key steps in broadening the entertainment experiences users can enjoy on their Sony Ericsson phone and gives a taste of our vision of the future," commented Alexandre Cardon, market business manager at Sony Ericsson.

The Aino also features a 3 inch 16 million colour screen, touch-screen and keypad, 8.1 megapixel camera, Geo tagging and built-in access to YouTube and Facebook.
