New CEO for Square Enix USA

Daishiro Okada to head North American operations

Japanese publisher Square Enix has appointed Daishiro Okada as its president and chief executive officer in North America, also serving on the company's board of directors. He will replace Ichiro Otobe, who will take new position at Square Enix Co. in Japan.

"Mr. Okada is a seasoned executive who will be a key force in capturing the full potential of Square Enix's abundant collection of high quality digital content," said Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix Co., Japan.

"With the landscape of the industry moving at an extremely quick pace, his extensive experience as a corporate executive and rich background in both the technology and financial sectors will successfully lead our North American business."

Okada joined Square Enix in January 2005, as a senior executive.
