Netflix surveys subscribers on Xbox 360 interest

US-based online film rental company Netflix has admitted that it is looking at the possibility of streaming movies via the Xbox 360 console.

According to a report on Reuters, a Netflix company spokesperson didn't specify whether or not that interest indicated that a partnership with Microsoft was a possibility in the short term, but did say that the company was keen to get to consumer televisions "in as many ways as possible."

The company last month announced that it would be dropping the HD DVD format in favour of Blu-ray, shortly before the Toshiba format collapsed altogether, and previously announced a link-up with LG Electronics to develop a set-top box for HD streaming.
