NCsoft appoints new VP of marketing

NCsoft has announced its hiring of David Reid as vice president of marketing for the North American market.

Reid previously served as the vice president of marketing for GameTap, the online games store. Prior to that he led global marketing and product planning of the Xbox 360 for Microsoft.

"David brings a wealth of experience to our marketing group," said Chris Chung, president of NCsoft's operations in North America.

"His impressive background in the entertainment software industry plus David's savvy surrounding some of the new technology and tools that are now available in the online space are the primary reasons we wanted him to be part of our NCsoft management team."

"On top of that, he's an avid gamer so he brings the complete package to the job," he added.

Reid will being taking up the position immediately, where he will lead marketing and brand strategies for the online games specialist, and all its products published in the North American market.
