MTV to promote Rock Band 2 with live tour
MTV has signed a number of bands to feature in a live US tour to help promote forthcoming music game sequel Rock Band 2.
The tour will include bands already featured in the Rock Band game such as Panic at the Disco and Dashboard Confessional, and kicks off in October following the release of the new game in September.
"The bands are fantastic, the timing dovetails perfectly with the release of Rock Band 2, and the events will be tons of interactive fun for families," commented Paul DeGooyer, senior VP for games and music at MTV.
Other bands joining the line-up include Plain White T's and The Cab, who will be included in a downloadable song pack following the release of the game.
The event will be sponsored by Pepsi Stuff and Hot Topic.
