Microsoft drops Xbox 360 price to EUR 199 - report
Arcade and Premium consoles get price reduction, says FT
Microsoft has slashed EUR 80 from the price of the Xbox 360 Arcade unit across Europe according to a report in the German edition of the Financial Times.
The Arcade SKU will now sell for EUR 199, while the Premium model will retail for EUR 299, down from EUR 339.
The report did not mention the Elite Xbox 360 — the high-end version of the console currently selling in Europe for around EUR 449.
Microsoft has yet to confirm the price cut officially.
Last week, rumours from the retail community suggested a price cut was due, with some reports indicating the move would happen on March 14, with all models reduced by EUR 50.
An Arcade unit selling for EUR 199 would be the cheapest home console from Microsoft, while placing it EUR 50 below that of Nintendo's Wii.
