Metaboli European Christmas sales up 172%

Metaboli, the digital distributor, has announced a massive increase in sales for the Christmas period year-on-year in both the UK and wider Europe.

Revenue from the UK market increased by 417 per cent for December 2008, when compared to the figure for the same period in 2007, meanwhile growth in its European revenue climbed 172 per cent.

The company credits the growth to an increased catalogue of titles on offer, especially highlighting the European exclusive of Grand Theft Auto IV.

"This demonstrates that digital is a viable and appealing platform to consumers in these difficult times for retailers," commented a spokesperson.
