Mario Kart Wii sales surge in Europe

Mario Kart Wii has dominated the European software sales for the week ended November 30, appearing first on both the Spanish and German sales charts.

The data, provided by Media-Control GfK International, shows Nintendo's arcade racer climbing to the top of the German chart from seventh last week and being followed by Need for Speed Undercover for the PlayStation 3.

The region also saw a resurgent Wii Fit take third place, while World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King secured a spot at number four. Call of Duty: World at War took fifth place, while need Need for Speed on the PlayStation 2 and PC took sixth and seventh place respectively.

Closing off the German chart was Mario Kart DS at eight, Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training for the DS at nine and Singstar Abba, for the PS2, at ten.

The Spanish chart saw Mario Kart climb three places to the top and Wii Play secure second place as Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, for the PS2, took third place. Need for Speed Undercover on the PS3 came in fourth, followed by Wii Fit at five and Resistance 2, also for the PS3, in sixth place.

PS3 titles, Call of Duty: World At War and Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, came in at seventh and eighth, while Need for Speed on the PS2 came in at nine and the DS title, Pokemon Ranger 2: Shadows of Almia, settled in at tenth place.
