Legendary Pictures to acquire Epic?
Legendary Pictures, the movie financing company behind the Lord of the Rings trilogy, could be in negotiations to acquire Epic Games.
According to Variety, which cites "multiple sources close to the companies", talks are being carried out to pave the way for the first film financing company-owned developer. Legendary Picture's chairman, Thomas Tull, is supposedly spearheading the deal, having maintained an interest in the games industry after recently leaving Brash Entertainment.
Epic Games is said to have caught the attention of Legendary Pictures and Tull following the company's involvement to co-finance New Line's Gears of War movie project.
